Decorative Design is an event decorator based out of suburban Pennsylvania. We help bring dreams to reality with our attention to detail and flawless work. Each year, we are able to meet the needs of several customers, helping them design their own dreams. Our skilled dedication to each project is ultimately what keeps customers coming back to Decorative Design.

Akila Shankar is skilled in her craftsmanship as well as other aspects of decorating. When she takes up a project, she ensures that each one is given a personalized touch that customers will enjoy for years to come. In the past, she has worked on a variety of projects from graduation parties to bridal showers—Akila covers all decorative events.

The process for each event starts with the customer calling for event decorating. From here, Akila intricately plans each detail of the event while consulting with the customer, making sure their needs are met. "My passion for art and design started at an early age! I knew it right from the beginning that this desire for designing is going to be part of my life forever. After my Degree in Fine Arts, I pursued my career in the Graphic Design field.

I was a freelance painter and did a few oil paintings on canvas. I expanded my creativity from canvas to walls, doing projects with wall murals. I transformed many people’s walls in their houses to a work of art and it became a conversation piece in their house. The compliments and encouragements I received for my work were incredible! That was when I realized ‘if I can change a simple wall into a work of art with my creativity and bring so much happiness, then I should be able to use my creativity to decorate an entire event with my unique decoration ideas & skills and make it memorable one.”
